2. There were multiple factors which linked the women’s rights movements and the abolitionist movements. Many women joined abolitionist movement as a way to enter public life and have the opportunity to talk about controversial topics. They faced criticism for addressing these controversial issues which prompted them to attempt gain freedom for women as well as those who were enslaved. They tried to use the abolitionist movement as a way to also gain equal rights for a women as there seemed to be a common idea shared between the two. Unfortunately many women antislavery advocates were denied a platform to speak on by male abolitionists which prompted them to start a campaign for women’s rights. Also, there was a â€Å"similarity† in the abuse a free and enslaved women received. Female abolitionists complained that gender roles caused the â€Å"domestic slavery of women† because women did not have any rights in marriage and no individuality which is what they compared to enslave women being assaulted on by their owners. The women used the same arguments regarding rights and equality in abolitionist movement into their own women s’ rights movements. Once women were able to gain their voice through the abolitionist movement they began to advocate more rights for themselves. All in all, we can see that similarities in the abolitionist movement and the women s’ rights movements, were the ideological factors in linking the women’s rights movements and the abolitionist movements. A Tale of Two Cities has several recurring themes, including the failure of the French Revolution. In the book, the peasants defeated the aristocrats by imprisoning and murdering them. Although many of the imprisonments and executions were unjust, the peasants had gain complete power. The peasants’ revolution did not end the tyranny that existed with the aristocrats ruling, but created a new tyranny with lack of justice and mercy. Dickens uses the evil Monsieur the Marquis to represent the tyrannical French aristocracy. The Marquis recklessly runs over and kills a peasant child. Dickens shows his lack of any sympathy and mercy for the peasants at this scene by stating, â€Å"Monsieur the Marquis ran his eyes over them all, as if they had been mere rats come out of their holes.† He thinks of the peasants as nothing more than rats as do the entire French aristocracy. However, the revolution does not result in any positive change. After the peasants obtained power, they have the same lack of sympathy and mercy toward the aristocracy or enemies of the Republic. Us history In general, the colonials and British were in constant disagreement with each other, the British wanted to impose its laws and taxes on the colonials even though they were miles apart. The colonials began to wanted separate itself from under British rule and become more independent. In 1763, the British King name George Greenville Prime Minster because Greenville shared the prevailing opinion within Britain that the colonies should be compelled to pay a part of the cost of defending and administering the empire (Brinkley, 2014, p. 91). Some of the ways the British imposed their policies; they regular British troops were permanently in America. The first British passing law was the Mutiny Act of 1765, which states and colonies were required to help provide and maintain the army (Brinkley, 2014, p. 91). Secondly, was the Sugar Act of 1764 which raised the duty on sugar while lowering the duty on molasses. Thirdly, the Currency Act of 1764 required that the colonial assemblies stop issu ing paper money. Finally, the government passed the Tea Act of 1773, which gave the company the right to export its merchandise directly to the colonies without paying any of the regular taxes that were imposed on the colonial merchants (Brinkley, 2014, p. 100). In conclusion, the rebellion began in the New England colonies because of all of the taxes that was being passed by the British were not affecting the plantation colonies or the Caribbean island. These colonies were not heavily involved in the manufacture because of the environment of their landscapes and they were more responsible for agriculture.
